Welcome to Waitress Wiki – an unofficial fan wiki dedicated to Waitress, the musical comedy. Based on the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress is the first Broadway and West End musical in history to have women in the top creative team spots, with a book by Jessie Nelson, score by Grammy Award-winner singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro and direction by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus.

The show’s original Broadway run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre closed on 5 January 2020, whilst a replica production closed in London’s West End at the Adelphi Theatre in March 2020, with a full UK and Ireland Tour starting in November 2020, and plans in works for the show to then return to the West End.

A second tour of the show is currently travelling across North America, following the First National Tour which ended in August 2019.

The first international production took place in 2018 in Manila, with new direction and set design, with a second – a Spanish translation entitled ‘Camarera: El Musical’ – opening in Buenos Aires in April 2019. A third non-replica production is due to open in Copenhagen, Denmark in April 2021, with a fourth opening in Polish in Warsaw the following week.

A replica of the Broadway production was due to tour the Netherlands in October 2020, translated into Dutch and starring Willemijn Verkaik; however, this has been postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19. It was also due to open in Sydney, Australia in 2020; this has also been delayed.

The third international replica production opened in Tokyo, Japan in March 2021, and will tour thereafter.

A further 20 other productions are in the works over the next few years.
